Privacy policy

Last updated: October 21, 2026

The short version

  • We collect what we need to run your account and your study plan.
  • Mentor sends your questions and study details to DeepSeek, a company in China, to get an answer. Authorities there can access data under their laws. We never see your card number.
  • One sign-in cookie and a sign-in session in your browser, no advertising trackers and no analytics today.
  • You can ask to see, fix or delete your data. We answer within 30 days.

Who this covers

This policy explains how MolarPath handles personal information on MolarPath (molarpath.com). We wrote it for Canada's PIPEDA and for learners anywhere.

MolarPath is an independent study app for the NDEB AFK. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Dental Examining Board of Canada.

MolarPath is for people aged 18 and over.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name and email, and a password that Supabase Auth handles for us. If you choose Google sign-in, Google tells us your name, email and profile picture.
  • Study activity: your answers, mocks, cards and readiness.
  • Your exam date, sitting, weekly study hours, time zone and reminder time, so we can plan your days.
  • Mentor conversations, a log of each Mentor question, answer and feedback you give, and short notes Mentor keeps about your goals and what you find hard.
  • Messages you send through the contact page. We email them to our support inbox through Resend and don't save them in the app.
  • Your email, if you join the waitlist.
  • Subscription status from Dodo Payments. This holds no card data.
  • Basic server logs, such as the time, IP address and page of a request and any error.

Waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we keep your email, the page you joined from, the consent wording you agreed to and the time you agreed. We use your email once, to tell you we've opened. It is stored in our database. We delete the list once we've sent the opening email, or sooner if you ask. You can ask us to delete it at any time by writing to support@molarpath.com.

How we use it

To run your account, show your progress, plan your days, answer Mentor, handle payments and refunds, reply to you and keep the service safe. We don't sell your data.

Who helps us run it

These service providers handle data for us:

  • Supabase: our database and sign-in.
  • Vercel: web hosting.
  • Railway: backend hosting.
  • DeepSeek, a company in China: the AI model behind Mentor. Mentor sends it your message, the question you ask about and the answer you chose, your exam date, sitting, weekly hours, progress by subject and Mentor's notes. Your name and email aren't sent.
  • Resend: email.
  • Dodo Payments: payments, tax and receipts. Dodo holds your payment details, and we never see your card number.
  • Google: only if you choose Google sign-in.

Our service providers may process your data outside Canada. DeepSeek, which powers Mentor, is a company in China. Authorities in those countries can access data held there under their laws. Wherever it is processed, we ask our providers to protect it.

We may also share information when the law requires it.

Cookies and analytics

We use one HttpOnly cookie to keep you signed in to MolarPath. Our sign-in service also keeps your sign-in session in your browser's local storage. Neither is used for ads or tracking, and signing out clears them.

We run no analytics today. If that changes, we update this page first.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. Mentor conversations stay until you delete them in Mentor or your account closes. The log of each Mentor question, answer and feedback stays until your account closes. After you ask us to delete your account, we delete it within 90 days, except what the law requires us to keep. Dodo Payments keeps payment records itself.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it or delete it. Write to support@molarpath.com from the email on your account. We answer within 30 days.

You can withdraw your consent at any time, for example to Mentor or to waitlist emails, by writing to support@molarpath.com. Some features, such as Mentor, may stop working without it.

We protect your information with sign-in controls, encrypted connections and access limits for our team and providers.

If you are in Canada and we haven't put something right, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters, we also email you.
